    We are no longer accepting submissions for issue 11 (Winter 2022) of bedfellows. Thank you so much to those who have submitted!

    bedfellows (est. 2013) is a Philadelphia-based literary magazine. We seek to catalog contemporary discussions of sex, desire, & intimacy (including their lack), with a particular focus on underrepresented & marginalized voices. If you'd like to get a better sense of what we're all about, previous issues & contributors can be found here. 

     We publish work that subverts, confronts, & rethinks the stigmas & expectations that are often attached to writing about sex & the body. Be strange, funny, brutal, raw, tender, uncomfortable, unhinged, sloppy, smutty, bored-- however you wish to interpret these themes. We tend to receive/publish predominantly poetry, but we're very open to prose, flash, & other short works. The issue will first appear in print, then online shortly thereafter.

    Submissions for the current issue are closed. We will provide notice on our next reading period April 2022. 

    During our next period, a submission form will be shown on this page.  Submissions sent by email will not be considered.

    The format for submissions is as follows:
    Upload a maximum for 5 pieces for submission, with each not exceeding two pages. Make sure to send the entirety of your submission in one docx, doc., or rtf file. If     submitting unsolicited work, please make sure to fill out the form below in its entirety in order for your work to be considered.
